Steven Read, DC

Dr. Read graduated from the world’s oldest and most prestigious chiropractic college, Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport Iowa in 1987.

Dr. Read grew up in DuBois, PA. He wrestled collegiately and attend Penn State University. He has also served in the Army Reserves.

He has acquired extensive post-graduate training in the evaluation and treatment of automobile accident related injuries. Considered by the courts to be an expert witness, he has had several opportunities to testify on behalf of his patients.

On most weekend, Dr. Read can be found camping or riding a dirt bike.

Mary Ray, DO

Dr. Ray graduated with her BS in biochemical pharmacology and MS in nutrition from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She received her Doctorate of Osteopathy from The Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1193. She completed her Family Practice Residency and is board certified in Family Practice.

A valuable team member, Dr. Ray manages our patients from a medical stand point. She medically supervises all our weight loss and hormone replacement patients.

Dr. Ray is considered an expert in the evaluation and treatment of toxic black mold syndrome. She has written a book on this subject and consults with patients from all over the world.

Jim Diesen, DC

Dr. Diesen graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic. Growing up in Southern Illinois, just outside of St. Louis he is an admitted Cardinal fanatic. Being in Florida he now obsesses over the Jaguars and Gators. He loves spending time with his new rescue dog.. Lucas, an Australian Shepherd.

He spends much of his time researching new advancements in patient care. Dr. Diesen is responsible for introducing new protocols in the evaluation of whiplash injuries to Jacksonville. He also teaches of health care providers these same protocols.

Pam Mobarak

Pamela Mobarak has been our office manager for over 12 years. Previously she worked as a claims analyst for Blue Cross Blue Shield. She has an extensive background in insurance billing and is always willing to assist you in any situation you might have with your insurance company or attorney.

Pam is an avid animal lover.

Shannon Hubbard

Shannon is usually the first person our patients meet when they call or come into our office. Shannon joined our office early in 2015.

As a front desk manager, she is responsible for scheduling and answering any questions our patients might have. Like all our staff, she is always available to assist our patients.

She is currently in school working on her nursing degree. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and she loves the beach. Shannon’s goal is to put a smile on everyone that comes in contact with Ortega Chiropractic Clinc.

Kimberly Castaneda, LMT (MA55311)

We are fortunate to have Kimberly as part of our team. While a great massage therapist, she also cares about each one of our patients.

Kimberly is a life long resident of the Jacksonville area.

She is married to the love of her life and they like to travel in their spare time.

She also enjoys spending time with her dog Marley.

Janie Swanson, LMT (MA65258)

After serving our country for 20 years in the Navy, Janie decided to become a
Massage Therapist. She joined our team here at OCC in November 2011.

She enjoys working closely with our patients and helping them when
they are in need.

On her time off, she and her husband Ken enjoy spending time at
their lake house fishing.
